CheckWatt continues as independent aggregator

CheckWatt's logotype

The previously announced acquisition of CheckWatt by Emaldo Group will not proceed as the necessary regulatory approvals were not obtained. CheckWatt continues its operations as the leading independent aggregator in the Nordics, and the partnership with Emaldo continues.

During the nine months of the regulatory review process, a fruitful partnership between Emaldo and CheckWatt has been established. Batteries from Emaldo are being installed at a rapid pace across the Nordics and the rest of Europe, and are connected via CheckWatt’s platform to ancillary services markets and other flexibility markets. This creates significant added value for customers beyond traditional solar self-consumption and electricity price optimization, where batteries are charged at low prices and discharged at high prices.

– We view our partnership with Emaldo over the past year positively, and I am pleased that we can continue to build on what we have started together. CheckWatt has a strong position and we continue to develop our services to meet the rapidly growing demand for flexibility in the power system, says Dan-Eric Archer, CEO of CheckWatt.

CheckWatt continues to expand in Europe and further develop its services to support the transition to a sustainable and flexible energy system.
